What is Short Term Health Insurance?
Short term medical is a type of health insurance designed for short periods of time. These policies are issued from 6-month up to 3-year terms.
There is no enrollment period for short term medical, you can sign up at anytime.
One thing to note about short term medical plans is they do not cover pre-existing health conditions or pregnancy.
Who Qualifies?
In order to qualify for a short term medical plan, you must health qualify. The applications will have a series of health questions and the applicant must answer "No" to these questions.
Common non-qualifying conditions include: diabetes, heart disease, cancer, HIV, COPD/emphysema, blood and liver disorders, and MS.
